Background: 16+ years working in education, 4 years in boarding,

Bio: Alistair qualified as a teacher in 2007 and spent 16 years teaching Spanish and French across the entire age range 3-18. As a middle leader and pastoral leader (houseparent in a boarding school), he has come across many different situations where care and understanding were required and where someone was struggling with a mental health related issue. Whilst empathetic and able to give advice, he began to feel that more direct training was needed. He launched a mental health initiative in his local rugby club and began researching Mental Health First Aid. In 2023, Head First: Mental Health and Wellbeing Training was officially established. He is passionate about improving the support provision of mental health.
