Dr Jennifer Skelding-Hoare

Dr Skelding-Hoare is an experienced HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. She attended City University, London and qualified in 2007. She has 18 years of experience working in the NHS across a variety of mental health settings, including inpatient services, secondary care community teams and IAPT primary care services. Dr Skelding-Hoare has had further advanced training in a variety of psychological therapies including CBT (BABCP accredited) and EMDR (EMDR Association UK member). She has a small private practice offering individual psychological therapy and clinical supervision of both qualified and training psychologists. She also supports Clinical Psychology training programmes at a variety of universities both through her NHS work and through her private practice. Dr Skelding-Hoare has a special clinical interest in working with trauma and PTSD presentations. She is passionate about the reduction in stigma associated with mental health problems, promoting men’s mental health, increasing access to mental health care for all as well as supporting communities to promote general wellbeing.
